Visit counting before consent
When a page opens, the site sends PostHog one page-view event through our managed reverse-proxy endpoint. Before you accept analytics, the analytics fields are limited to the page path, host, and country-level location inferred from the network request. Query parameters, referrers, precise location, and person profiles are disabled, and no analytics identifier is stored in the browser. PostHog derives an anonymous, privacy-preserving visit hash on its servers rather than the site assigning a visitor ID. As with any request, PostHog receives network information needed to deliver the service. No other analytics event is sent.
Optional full analytics
With your consent, we also send controlled events such as a page or feature being viewed, a comparison being started, or an official-source link being opened. We disable automatic interaction capture and session recording. We do not send names, email addresses, account numbers, exact calculator amounts, free-text searches, or correction-email contents in custom analytics events.
PostHog and the browser may then process technical information needed to deliver analytics, such as a pseudonymous identifier, browser and device information, page URL, approximate location derived from network information, and event time. The legal basis for this additional analytics collection is your consent.
Retention and service provider
Analytics is retained only while it is useful for understanding and improving the comparison product, then deleted or aggregated. PostHog acts as the analytics service provider; its own service information is available in the PostHog privacy notice. Your consent choice remains in this browser until you change it, clear site storage, or the site resets its consent policy.
Your choice
Only visit counting runs until you select “Allow analytics.” Choosing “Visits only” does not reduce site functionality. The site stores your choice in your browser so it can respect it on later pages. Use the “Privacy choices” button to change or withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal returns future collection to visit counting only.
Scenario links and emails
Calculator scenarios remain in your browser and URL. A shared URL can contain the entered scenario amounts and selected broker IDs, so review it before sharing. Emails sent to hello@findyourbestbroker.com are used to answer the message or verify a reported data issue. Never email brokerage credentials, account numbers, government IDs, tax documents, exact holdings, or other sensitive financial information.
Questions and rights
You may ask about access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
